Marijuana has numerous cannabinoids that interact with your body’s system. Many things from exercise to eating can deliver similar sensations. Here are three other things that can mimic your favorite bud.
Catnip, or Nepeta cataria from the genus Nepeta, is a species of plant that’s commonly used in cooking and brewing herbal teas. It’s also what they create Catnip out of which makes cats go crazy! An essential oil called nepetalactone that’s found in the stems and leaves of the Nepeta plant has effects on cats. The plant’s scent activates the receptors in a cat’s brain that respond to pleasurable pheromones, while eating it brings mellow effects.

Researchers had some lab mice run on a wheel, and noticed an increase in endorphins and endocannabinoids after their run. The mice were less anxious and tolerated pain better. The mice acted less anxious and were better able to tolerate pain.
