Official! See what Peru just did with Medical Cannabis

Posted on 29-Oct-2017

Just in, the Peruvian Congress has voted to legalize cannabis for medical use. They are just waiting for President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski to approve it before it becomes a law. The bill is known as the legislative Bill 1393. It passed on a 67-5 vote with only three members abstaining. This will allow the cultivation and storage of medicinal cannabis products with supervision by the Ministries of Agriculture and Health, the Life Without Drugs and the National Commision for Development.

The bill was proposed during the summer to legalize cannabis for medical use as a solution for suffering patients after law enforcement raided a community cannabis cultivation site in February.

The law will allow residents with qualifying conditions to use cannabis to medical treatment. It is reported that the president is supportive of the initiative as he has even said “If they want to smoke, it’s not the end of the world.”
