Last weekend's Sacramento Cannabis Cup was a huge success. It was Cali's first even with a licensed cannabis sale and onsite usage. It has peaked the curiosity of the music promoters as they hope to monetize cannabis similar to how they monetize off of merchandise for future events.
It isn't a matter of if this will occur, it's more of a when will it happen as the cannabis industry moves forward, the power of monetization will correlate with its growth. Green does make more green.
Huge music industry entities are awaiting their moment to get on the wave of cannabis sales and licensing deals.
For instance, Red Light Management is one of the music industry’s biggest independent management companies, Just last year, this company partnered with Emerald Cup; which is one of the oldest cannabis festivals in the nation.
The management company advised on operations that grew the Emerald Cup’s reputation to an Academy Awards level within the cannabis industry.
You may ask why are promoters and music industry heads just hopping on this, well there's a Cali law that makes cannabis booths at music venues a legal conflict.
By law, events with licensed cannabis sales and onsite use can only be held at state-administered county fairgrounds.
So let's hope for the best in that law being challenged, and you may be sparking it up at the next concert you visit in California.
